Periodontology as the name implies is related to structures and tissues around the teeth. It encompasses the prevention , diagnosis and treatment of diseases of supporting and investing tissues of teeth i-e the periodontium. The department is fully equipped with state of the art dental units and allied facilities to render best possible periodontal care to the patients.  Faculty members are also engaged in basics and applied sciences research programs.

The Department is dedicated to the overall training of third year dental students and house officers . We provide treatment at various level to our patients. Our dental students learn to diagnose Periodontal diseases and treat basic Periodontal conditions. Currently the department is also engaged in imparting training to the para dental students. The department has all the potential for post graduate training program.
