Policy Statement
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at CIMS Multan affirms that quality assurance is a shared institutional responsibility. QEC is committed to ensuring that all academic and administrative functions meet the quality benchmarks set by NUMS and relevant accreditation councils, through a transparent, structured, and evidence-based approach to quality enhancement.
Vision
The QEC aims to achieve the standards of quality education through continuous quality surveillance by feedbacks from students and faculty, enabling CIMS Multan to excel as one of the leading institutions of medical and dental education over the global canvas.
Mission
To effectively implement NUMS’ framework of Quality Assurance in line with its vision to build a mechanism of self-correction through organized efforts of all stakeholders, including administration, academic departments, faculty, and students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Objectives
- To implement the NUMS-defined Quality Assurance framework at the institutional level.
- To ensure compliance with program accreditation criteria as defined by professional councils (e.g., PMDC, PNC).
- To regularly conduct and evaluate feedback from students, alumni, and faculty for continuous quality improvement.
- To facilitate development of policies, reporting tools, and evaluation mechanisms that promote a sustainable quality culture.
- To support departments in meeting quality indicators through training, documentation, and policy guidance.
Implementation Procedure
QA at Institutional Level
- Annual Quality Activity Calendar is prepared by QEC.
- Surveys (Student Course Evaluations, Faculty Evaluations, Alumni & Faculty Surveys) are conducted digitally block-wise or annually as applicable.
- Feedback is consolidated and shared with the CIMS Secretariat and relevant departments for action.
- Institutional Performance Evaluations are aligned with HEC and NUMS quality indicators.
- A formal Corrective Implementation Plan (CIP) is developed based on the findings.
QA at Program Level
- Each department ensures compliance with NUMS quality parameters.
- Departmental Coordinators work with QEC to submit regular reports and program reviews.
- QEC assists in preparation of Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) and accreditation documents.
- Evaluation results guide academic reforms and improvements.
Implementation of Rules and Policies
- NUMS quality guidelines are reflected in institutional rules and handbooks.
- All quality-related decisions are made through proper statutory and academic bodies.
- Policies related to teaching, research, assessment, and faculty development are formally approved and periodically reviewed.
Training and Awareness
- QEC organizes seminars, workshops, and training sessions to promote quality awareness among faculty and staff.
- Collaborates with departments for Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), especially in areas of pedagogy, assessment, and student engagement.
- Supports integration of quality culture through orientation sessions for new faculty and students.

Committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, research, and continuous improvement, the QEC ensures that all quality assurance processes are effectively implemented through structured feedback, evaluations, and collaboration with all academic and administrative departments. By digitizing surveys and integrating evaluations into the CMS Portal, the QEC actively works to strengthen institutional performance, support data-driven decision-making, and contribute towards producing competent, ethical, and quality-conscious healthcare professionals ready to meet national and global standards.
